Shooting times can vary by species, wildlife management areas, seasons, and other variables. The shooting times for most game animals is from one half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset. For most migratory game birds, shooting time begins one half hour before sunrise and ends at sunset. Again, these are only generalities, you must consult the official rules and laws as applicable to the state, species, location, and other variables in the area you will be hunting.

Due to the complex nature of calculating these times, they are provided without liability for use as legal shooting times. These times should be within +/- 2 minutes of the times the US Naval Observatory records. The US Naval Obseratory is the official time keeper for the United States of America. Weather, tree canopies, and other local conditions may warrant a later start time and an earlier stop time. Please be sure you can identify your target and anything that may be down range of it. Note Coordinates should be entered in Decimal Degree Format. The coordinates should look like 29.508333 To convert other types, simply take your seconds and divide by 60 and add to your minutes, then take that minute number and divide by 60 and add this to the degrees. Eg. If your coordinate is 29 degrees 30 minutes 30 seconds, then take seconds(30) divided by 60 = 0.5 and add to your minutes(30) = 30.5 , then take that number(30.5) and divide by 60 = 0.508333, then add to degrees(29) = 29.508333 West Longitude and North Latitude is assumed.
